Want a Remastered Show?
Please don't just jump to the
chart date of this week's shows to look at the cue sheets. We
are asking for five minutes of your time to read this. We thought
about disabling the calendar to make this point but we are putting
our trust in you, the fans.
Looking at the traffic to this site, there are a LOT of you fans
out there. You get a lot of information and, we hope, a lot of
enjoyment at no cost to you. We love being able to provide this
service and all of its information. Guys like Pete Battistini,
the "godfather of American Top 40," have donated much
of their time and resources. We have never asked for anything
before but as of this writing, we are asking you to demonsrate
the power of your numbesr. We're asking for a donation for the
first time and for a worthy cause and you get something in return.
Have you ever wanted to have a remastered, uncut show straight
from the source? Well, here's your chance and it's all to help
an outstanding cause at the same time. I hope you take the time
to read through this and simply don't dismiss it.
BACKGROUND
I believe there is power in numbers. Many grains of sand form
a beach, many raindrops produces lakes, rivers and oceans. In
the same sense, the impact of many individuals coming together
can achieve things on a greater scale. I have asked you to help
me help others in the past and your have responded overwhelmingly.
Just to recap some of those as reminders:
- several years ago there was a former AT40 staffer diagnosed
with cancer. By us collectively buying his collection, we provided
a tremendous amount of financial help to him (FYI - he is still
in remission after treatment) and we discovered many gems at the
time.
- we collectively bought the collection of someone who was being
foreclosed on. Through acquiring that collection, this former
DJ in SC was able to pay his past due bills. I can proudly say
he has since paid off his home.
- you collectively bought the collection of a widow in Oklahoma.
She took satisfaction her husband's prized collection was going
to people who would appreciate it and again helped someone in
financial need.
I could tell you one success story after another. However, today
I'm hoping you can help be part of another.
As many of you know, I only do the music restoration on the side,
part time. If you thought I did this full time, I'm sorry to burst
your bubble. As my mom always said, "keep your day job!"
lol. I am a registered professional engineer and work in environmental
consulting. I represent industry before state agencies and the
EPA. The music is a hobby that is fun.
For recreation on the side, I coach girls fastpitch softball.
I've coached for over 10 years, volunteered for community parks
& rec and organized many tournaments. I've seen hundreds of
girls come through the programs. I have three daughters (no sons)
and thus see the positives in team sports for girls. There are
many life lessons taught "between the lines" on the
fields. I got more involved when I noticed how many of these girls
never had dads, for whatever reasons, not show up for practices
or games. I realized on some days that me and my assistant coaches
may be the only positive role model they see that day.
I say all that to let you know that over time you develop relationships
with teams, other girls and other families. We see these girls
grow up before our very eyes.
REQUEST FOR HELP
My assistant coach and one of my best friends just found out this
week that his niece, Kaitlyn Campbell has been confirmed to have
a cancer called Ewing's Sarcoma. Kaitlyn is a 12 year old girl
that is the catcher of a Central Arkansas team called Pride 2000.
This is a girl I have seen on the softball fields for many years.
I know many of her family personally. As emails poured in tonight,
I didn't realize how many more mutual connections we shared. She
is the cousin of one of the girls on the team that I coach. This
young lady began her chemo treatment today. This means that she
will lose all of her hair and will have some very rough days ahead.
Cancer at any age is a sobering thought and for a child particularly
so. The first question she had for her doctor was, "Am I
going to die?"
We take life and each day for granted too much. If you have kids,
you know how this would impact you. So, I want to help this family
in a BIG way but I need your help! As I said earlier, individuals
can only do so much but a group can accomplish great things! Our
team and other teams are already doing various fund raisers.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
I want to do something unique and show the impact a group of AT40
and radio fans can make. This is something different. How can
you help? From now until the end of the month, for anything you
order from me - 50% will go to the Campbell family.
If, for whatever reason, you think this is a scam or not legit,
I'll be glad to give you the Campbell's contact info and you can
make a direct donation. I hope you will partner with me to help
them by spreading the word. If you're on my Facebook page, you
will already know and have seen posts by the family and those
who know them.
I challenge each of you who have
received enjoyment from the shows, from the availability of almost
every cue sheet, from the knowledge of guys like Pete to give
something back, no matter how big or small. There is power in
numbers. I want to prove to this family that this is true.
Let's all make a difference together!
Just go to the contact page to reach us or contact
us.
Speaking of making a difference, because of the way certain rules
are these days, I'm the only party who can sell AT40 shows on
eBay. Yet, there are a lot of great guys out there besides me
who have shows for sale and GOOD shows at that. Good in both content
and condition. I'd love to see these guys supported too because
it takes all of us to keep AT40 going. With that being said, here
is the list of what I know one person has available. If interested,
I'll get you guys connected AND I'll add something myself to his
LPs if you connect to make it more than worthwhile to you:
